The Alomars family of the two professional baseball players are descended from a Tunisian Jew who moved first to Ecuador then his son moved to New York then Puerto Rico afer meeting his Puerto Rican wife. I remember being told the story by the Tunisians greatgrandaughter Janice Alomar who is an educational consultant in Boston. Give her a hug and say hello from me if you see her.
Can you be more specific, I'm also researching Alomar in Santa Isabel and Torres in Salinas.
Santa Isabel, Puerto Rico
Salinas, Puerto Rico
Thanks for the information. I will attempt to contact her and will give her a hug if I am ever lucky enough to meet her. Muchos Gracias!!!!!!!!!!!

Alomar - Santa Isabel, PR
Sure, my grandmother is Rufina Torres and she married into the Ramos family. This brought her to Salinas, PR. My father is Pedro Alomar and he is from Santa Isabel, PR. His father's name was Victor Alomar and his mother's name was Lupe Alomar (do not know her maiden name). Could you tell me a little bit about your family background?
I was searching the queries, and matched with your grandfathers' name CORSINO. (Considering its not a common surname in PR, I thought I take a chance) My great-grandfather-Alejandrino Garcia Couvertier was from Naguabo PR, his father was Pablo Garcia CORSINO and his mother Juaquina Couvertier Pimentel. I don't know where they were from but Salinas is at least on the same side of the island. I don't understand if Corsino is your grandfathers fathers name or his mothers? Maybe there's a possible link, would love to compare notes, looking forward to your reply...thanks Doris
Re: Alomar - Toa Baja, PR
Si ven el Censo de Toa Baja para el año 1910 (NARA T-624 Roll(o) 1780 busquen en el Bo. Candelaria en el camino de Toa Alta ó Arecibo--->Bayamón, allí hallarán varios.
I ran into Janice who said that there is more than one Alomar family living in Puerto Rico. The above is her Alomar which includes the baseball players
