About 5 years ago now I started researching
the HOLDER lines in the America. Many
cousins have sent me their data, and
hundereds of hours on the WEB,I now
have a super sized data base. I stop
tracking family data at 1900, and go back to 1638,
the first recorded Holder arriving in
America.
We have been able to connect hundereds of
Holder cousins doing research. There were
not many Holders arrive in America and most
trace back to just a few lines.

My line came to Ray Co., Missouri from the
Hawkins, Jefferson, Greene Co., TN area in
1842. They were in TN before 1817.

I am interested in the information that you have. What do you know about the early immigrants?

To be honest there are not a lot of Holder
immigrants. The ones on record before 1800
came from Great Brittan. The first in 1638,
was in Maryland. Almost all Holder lines
today originated in VA, NC, and SC. We
have been here so long that the normal
stories passed on from generation to
generation have been forgotten.
believe most of

Holder, Fleming

Thank you for the information. I believe that we had a Glover Holder, my family lived in Alabama. He and his wife had eleven children, two died at birth. Wilbur, Sydney, Ann, Jesse, etc. but the information on the Ancestory site is incomplete giving only some of the children's names and then ?? for the rest. Of course, they were born at home.. Three of the ladies lived over 100, one almost to 104. The Holder father married a Fleming and that is as far back as I know. I am interested but this is not easy. I did find the marriage license my great grandfather Holder and Fleming wife, married by the Holy Gospel, must have kept good records.. and they had the nine children that lived that I met and knew. How difficult is it to give the proper names to fill in the ??? on the site. I know the information. The story from them was that my Holder's were German?? I am not sure because I believe that the Fleming mother was Dutch so ???? My grandfather was Wilbur Fleming Holder.

Thanks,

Patricia

Bill,

Do you have information concerning Robert Glover Holder? My grandfather was his son, his name was Allen Glover Holder. It seems from the internet source that Jeremiah Langston was Allen Glover's father?? I don't know how to determine that is accurate. ?? What is the best way to go about this? Help!!

I noticed Bill Holder indicated Elizabeth must have died before 1798. She didn't as she is mentioned in Jesse's will probated in 1802. i have a copy of the original (went to Laurens Co., SC to obtain. The children mentioned are: Soloman, Jeremiah,, Delila, Rebecka, Martha, Sarah,Mary,(not his wife) Willie, Jesse, John (my John) and Elizabeth (my youngest daughter as he stated n will ).
I hope this helps you.
