I'm looking for information on my great grandmother, Jane McGowan, maybe Mary Jane. She was born December 23, 1862 in Donaghadee, County Down, Ireland. She moved to Ontario, Canada before she was 15, and married William Hall, originally from Scotland, I don't know exactly where. He was born April 18, 1850. Any info or suggestions would be appreciated.

I have a lot of information about the Magowan side of my mother's family. I am sure there were more in the family than the two I have so most likely Jane belongs here and her birth year would fit in there. My great, great grandfather was William Hannah Magown and I have found a cousin in Arizona who's great, great grandfather was Alexander Magown and we have lots of info for both families. I also have ship's manifests for Alexander and birth and death records for William. I'll keep looking and asking about a Jane or Mary Jane. Let's hope we get lucky. Hopefully you can read the PDF files attached. You can download a free reader from Adobe.com. Let me know if you think we're close.

The attached record is for my great, great grandfather William Hannah Magowan. Do you have any information about this family? I only have another brother listed, Alexander, and their parents James and Mary Ann McIlwain.

Triple wow!!! I just sent you an e-mail looking for info and then found your reply to someone else. I don't have any of these names listed but I always suspected that there were more in my great, great grandfather's family than just William and Alexander. Hopefully I can fit this info inn with what I already have and come up with some distant relatives. Thank you so much for you help.
