I have a lot of information on this family starting with Salvador born about 1705 in Villa de Sinaloa, Mexico. Have not been able to find anything prior to 1705 except a mention of him in a book stating that there was a Franciso de Lugo with Cortez when he conquered Mexico in the early 1500's, but nothing between those dates. Will be glad to share what info I have.

Villa de Sinaloa church records were destroyed in a flood in the early 1770's...

Sinaloa census records may help...

By any chance do you have LUGO from Puerto Rico in your list at all?
I have researched the ZAPATA surname on my tree and it led to Mexico as well -into the 1600's.
Just wondering.

I know there is a lot of information on the Lugo family in puerto Rico, but it just a list of names of marriages and not a lot of help. It was a very common name in Puerto Rico. The only new information I have found is there was a family of Lugo's living in Meir Mexico about 1750, but have not been able to tie them in yet. I will keep looking.

Sorry can't be of much help.

My father's grandmother was a Lugo. Her family was apart of the Spanish Land grants in California. Her name was Martina. I believe her father was Antonio Maria De Lugo. Would you happen to know anything about this?
