Margaret Ann (Murphy) (Gallant) Cudmore is the great-grandmother of my husband. She was born in Tipperary, Ireland. She came to PEI when she was about 4 years old with her parents. I have seen newspaper articles with the details of Mr Cudmore's death; I will provide the link in separate message as soon as re-located. Regards.

Thank you so much for your response. I had all but given up on ever finding out where she went or what happened to her. Curious to find out if she came back to Canada.
I will look forward to your reply.

Hi again, after months of researching a little piece of info was made available and from that have confirmed that Margaret Ann (Murphy) Cudmore married George B. Kimball on March 20, 1921 in Jackson, Maine. In the 1940 US Census he is listed as a farmer. One of her surviving granddaughters vaguely remembers a couple of family members travelling to Lewiston, Maine for her funeral. She died in her mid-nineties. I have not been able to locate her death record.

Also, regarding her birth, she was actually born in Prince County, Prince Edward Island, not Ireland as she always hinted. Her mother was born on PEI, so her claim must have been borne of pride for the "motherland". Her grandparents and father emigrated to Canada.

If you are able to provide any updates, I would be grateful to receive them. Thanks!

Thank you for your interest in my query. I will gather what info I have on Great Aunt Margaret and share it with you.
I've not been working on this for quite a while now due to declining health.
I know she had a son and a daughter from a previous relationship her son was Joseph Gallant he and his wife lived in Brownville when Great Uncle Robert was shot.
will get back to you soon. regards

Hi there. My apologies for not checking for response sooner. Thanks for this info.
There were several children, actually. I am married to one of the great-grandsons of Margaret Gallant. I never heard of a Willie, I'll go digging again :)
Margaret married Joseph Henry Gallant of PEI; extensive research has proven unproductive in accessing earlier Gallant family records, or his marriage / death certificates.
Joseph & Margaret had seven children, Julia Ann (1882), Solomon (Apr 9, 1884), Thomas Henry, Mary Elizabeth (b Oct 20, 1888), Maria (Aug 12, 1890), Joseph (Dec 24, 1892), and Gurtey (Aug 9, 1899). (Source 1901 census).

I did find that Margaret married a George Kimball in Jackson, Maine. For some reason I think she is buried there, but have not been able to find the previous link / backup for that data.

Yes, I live in NB, married into Dunham branch from Manoah & Amanda (Ryder) Dunham.
