i am a direct descendant of william de mohun of dunster castle i was wondering if anyone knows anything of his parentage or his relationship to william the conqueror thanks larry moon

Hello Larry,
Have run across four William de Mohun's. All from Dunster.
The eldest was:
Sir William de Mohun, d. aft. 1190, lord of Dunster, Somerset, Sheriff of Somerset. Md. Adeliz.
He had a son William de Mohun, d. in/bef. 1155, Earl of Somerset, held barony of Dunster, Somerset, who md. Agnes de Gaunt.
They had a son, William de Mohun, who held barony of Dunster, Somerset, who md. Godeheut de Toeni.
They had a son William de Mohun, d. 1193. He held the barony of Dunster, Somerset, He md. Lucy.

The Mohuns are my ancestors too. If you can trace your ancestry back to the early Mohuns then you have sideways links to just about anyone who was anyone in Medieval Europe.
