Can anybody please tell me what I'm doing wrong. I can't even find my family members. I type in birthdays, name, city, county, state, all the filters are used and nothing. I get birth records from Minnesota, Texas, Kentucky, who died on the Mayflower...I mean I've looked up everybody I've ever met and can't find what I'm looking for for a single one...This includes Births, Marriage, etc....I've had Ancestry for many years and the only people that are on my Family Tree are people I've placed there...I've wasted mucho bucks on this.
Gonna have to dump this. It costs too much. Please help.

First, you have to remember that it is much harder to find living people. Most recent birth records are not public domain. So, you will have the most luck starting by looking for your parents, if they were born before 1940, you can find them in the census. If they were born more recently, start by looking for your grandparents. Try putting in less information, such as just a first and last name. If it is a real common name, add a state or city, or approximate birth date. If you put in all of the information and it was transcribed wrong, or the census taker got it wrong, you will not get any hits.
If you can tell us what records you are looking for, the years and location, maybe we can give you more hints.

I found several records for Carl Haase right away with a simple search. His birth date is different in his SSDI and US Veterans Gravesite records, but easily found along with North Dakota state census records and others.. As others have stated, if you're looking up everyone you've ever met then you won't find much for living persons. You've had Ancetry for several years but barely even have a tree started and two message board posts. It requires a good deal of research and time and you should only be putting people you've added on there instead of copying a whole tree.

I have approx 30+ specialized search sites. I first use the Free site PIPL.Com. Next try PEEKYOU.COM, and then Zoominfo.com. All are free and can be used to find currently living persons.
