Looking for Nathan and Amanda Clark

Classification: Death
Surnames: Clark, Cooper
I am looking for my 2nd great grandparents in Stetson Maine in the late 1800s. Preferably after the Civil War. My 2nd greatgrandfather was Nathan Clark b.1834 in Corinna Maine. He married Amanda Cooper b. 1837. They were married in March of 1856 in Stetson. They had a son they named Ralph b. 1859. I know that Nathan fought in the Civil war and survived however he did not return to Maine after. In looking at the census neither he nor Amanda were there. Ralph was raised by his grandparents, Amanda's Parents Levi and Ann Cooper. Being such a common name it is very difficult to find Nathan and seperate him from all the others. Please help.
