GRADY, DURHAM

My Brazilian wife's great-grandparents were Curtis GRADY and Sarah GRADY (nee Sarah Rush DURHAM) who emigrated to Brazil from US about 180 along with about 10 children (including a Sarah and twins Curtis and Greg). It has always been believed that they came from Georgia, where their plantations were lost during/after the Civil War, and that Curtis was related to the well-known Henry Woodfin GRADY of Athens Ga - perhaps a brother, but more likely a cousin. It seems that the Gradys of Athens may have moved south from N Carolina around 1800 but maybe later..

We are rather far away from US sources here in England. Can you help or
provide any advice please?

Dear Mr. Asprey,

I happened to see your request for information an the Grady Family.
I am also a descendent of Mr. Curtis Durham Grady, through his daughter Harrier Rush Grady, who married my greatgrandfather George Craig in Brazil.

Maybe I can help you with some information. If this is your wish, please inform me your email.

Best Regards,

Rodney Gould.
