Edward Kappler and Mary Forbes were my grandparents. Mary Forbes was born and raised in Hespeler Ontario. I cannot give you any more information on either of them but I may be able to find out more by asking a cousin of mine. What is your connection to the Kappler family??

I am married to Donna Cappler, a daughter of Robert (Roy) (K)Cappler who was a son of Edward. I am very interested in what they know about Edward Kappler as my search of the Archives as given me nothing todate.

I thought I recognized your name but I wasn't sure. I haven't found out anything new, but will get in contact with Ann Thomson (Kappler). She seems to know more than I do about the family as her Dad (Gord) talk about his father and mother. I will also try and get over to the Hespeler cemetary as I know some of the Kapplers are buried there. Maybe Edward or Mary are buried there? Talk to you later. Have a good Easter. Say hello to Donna.

I just received an email from my niece regarding the whereabouts of the graves of Edward Kappler & Mary Mae Forbes. They are both buried in New Hope cemetary in Hespeler. Reference number WW-4498. At least this is something to go on.

Thanks very much. I will visit the cemetery the next time we travel to London for a visit with our daughter and her family.

I went to the cemetary in Hespeler on the weekend and found the grave site. There wasn't much information on the tombstone. Edward Kappler died Sept.2, 1949 in his 66th year. Mary M. Forbes died Jan.14, 1923 in her 27th year.

Thanks Susan for the work. Sorry for the delay in replying as Donna and I arrived home at midnight last night from a two week trip down south. It is difficult to find information on the Kapplers.

Yes, any information on the Kapplers in Canada is very limited. There seems to be plenty of information on them in the U.S. I know there was a sister (of Edward) and her name was Maud or Maude. She used to come up from Michigan or Ohio with her husband. We called them Aunt Maud and Uncle Bud, but for the life of me I don't think I ever head their last name. There again it is a dead end. The only person that would have known was Aunt Grace who died last year. Any inforamtion I find on the Kapplers I will let you know.

Hope the weather was good when you were on your vacation and you came back all relaxed.

Susan,

My Kappler line setteled in Huron County Mich. in the mid 1800's from Canada. The two brothers were Daniel and Philip. Are your Canadian ancestors related?

Thanks,

Todd
