Hi Fred:
Maybe he also served in the REV War. I found this ancestor during our search of the DAR Patriot Index. The following information was listed in the index.
John Easland born 3/11/1756 NY died 8/6/ 1847 MA married (1) Rachel Hopkins Brasie (202 Sally Webb Private MA He has a pension which would be available from the National Archives
Since someone has established membership in the NSDAR through him, you may obtain a copy of the DAR application with the patriot’s information by sending a check for $5.00 payable to Treasurer General NSDAR. Mail the check along with the information on the Patriot to: Record Copy Department; Registrar General NSDAR; Administration Building; 1776 D Street NW; Washington, DC 20006-5303. Please send only one check and request per envelope. Requests for record copies may take four to six weeks as they are very busy.
Best of luck in your research.
Hope this helps and if we can help you again, please feel free to contact us.
Best regards, Jan DAR Volunteer Information Specialist This is a free look-up service provided by DAR volunteers at the DAR message board.

Dear Jan, Thank you for the info and your time. I did not know John Easland was in the Rev. War. He was the son of John G. Easland. Having served in the French and Indian War, would John G.be qualified for membership in the DAR. Again, thank you for your help and time.

Fred:
The requirement for DAR is patriotic service during the Revolutionary War only, not any of the wars of that time. But, of course, John has already been proven, so you have the link. Maybe John G. provided service also and hasn't been proven, or was he too old?
Hope this helps.

Re: DAR Lookup / John George Easland / "Gore" area, NY / 1754-1763
I'm descended from John George Easland or Easling who lived in the Gore or what became West Stockbridge, Mass. Just got the family tree in here. I spell my name Easling. Yes, he and his sons were in the revolution.

Fred, are you still reading here? Easling and Easland are the same tree, descended from John George who settled in the Gore in Mass. I am looking for more info. I'm descended from John George Easland's youngest son, Garrett Easling. Margaret Easling
