Hello,
Don't know if we are related, but, our line
of Henrys moved to Oklahoma in the early 1900's and settle around Henryetta. Dad was
born at Hanna, where by great grandfather and
ggrandmother and some great uncles are burried. Most of the family still live here in Oklahoma. I met some distant cousins in
northern Georgia a few years ago, and that's
where we are originally from. If this sounds
familiar, let me know. As you find out more
about your family and where they came from,
I have other info to share.

Hello Debbie,

My ggrandfather was John Wiley Henry and
is burried at Oak Hill Cemetery by Hanna,
OK. My ggrandmother is also burried there;
she was Donah Senora Mosley. My gandfather
was James Luther Henry; his sisters were
Jose, Pearl and Bess, and his brothers were
Charles, Frank, Burt and Bas. I am fairly
sure that Charles Jefferson, John Burton and
maybe Arthur Bascum are all burried at Oak
Hill. The only head stone I could find was
for great uncle Burt. Grandpa Jim and great
uncle Frank are burried at Eufaula. Does any
of this sound familiar? Any info you could
share would be greatly appreciated. You can
email me at joewhenry@hotmail.com.

Thanks,

Joe

My great grandfather was John Wiley Henry. My great grandmother was Dona Senora Mosley. My grandmother was one of their daughters, Lourie Bess (Henry) Johnson. I'me very anxious to learn more about the Henry side of my family. I'd be more than happy to share what information I have on the Mosleys. My source is a 1958 letter written by one of my grandmother's sisters (?), "Sercie.

I am trying to respond to a message from Pat Henry Dixon. I will be attending a Henry family reunion in two days(August 13th, 2000)in Kennesaw, Georgia which we have every year. I will try to see if this matches any information we have so far there, but the name John W. Henry sounds very familiar. Please provide an email address and I will try to get some information for you.

My g-grandfather, James A. Henry (a non-Cherokee, but adopted by the tribe) married Mary B. Hair (half-Cherokee) in Cherokee Nation, OK, sometime during the 1890s. My grandfather, Jesse James Henry, was born there in 1898 (he had a brother named Oscar C. Henry, born approx. 1900) and eventually moved to Gore, OK where he married Beryl Rachel Reed in 1920 and my Dad was born in 1925. Have no idea how far Gore is from Henryetta (should have gone to Mapquest first perhaps!), but would like to find out more about my grandfather's brother(s?). Don't know if he had any sisters or not. If you or anyone else can help, I'd be grateful. Many thanks.
