Ted:

My father published a booklet titled "Perpetual Pioneers - The Migrations of Caleb Seaman's Descendants in the 19th Century". It includes David Seaman and his family along with others that may be of interest to you.

If you e-mail me you mailing address, I would be pleased to forward you a copy.

Thank you Peter for your booklet which describes the hardship of the first pioneer settlers to St. Vincent Township about 1835 to the Mallory Settlement north of Meaford to Cape Rich. Many settlers were UEL who left Long Island, New York to settle first near Brockville before settling in St. Vincent Township.
Your booklet includes many early settlers families which intermarried: Mallory, Seaman, McCready, Doran, Howard, McLean, Burley, Mackie, Cunningham, Atkins, Weaver.
Several of these family members later migrated to Nebraska and western states and Canada.
This booklet is a must read for anyone researching the genealogy of St. Vincent and Sydenham Township families.

My grandma Hazel gave me the book "Perpetual Pioneers" before she passed away.I was wondering if it is possible to purchase more copies and also open up correspondance with other Seaman decendants. Thanks from Puget Sound to Owen Sound.

Hi Charley, I have not read the booklet, but I am a decendant of the Seaman's. My Grandmother is Susan Snedicker Seaman. All my Seaman's remained in the NY area until my Grandmother with her 5 boys moved to MI. She was married to Claude LaVern Strickling. I would like to know more about my Grandmother's father Archibald Limbeck Seaman. I think he might have been a butcher in Queens, but I'm not sure. I do remember my Grandmother saying he use to eat that horrible smelly cheese. liversomething? I have my Seaman tree back to John Seaman 1400s in Newport, England. he m. Margaret Abbott. I don't know if I can be of any help, but I'd love to hear your story. Sally
