If you go to www.nara.gov, look for links to the regional archive branches and look for the address and phone of the one that is nearest to wherever you live. Each branch of the National Archives should have ALL of the microfilms for ALL of the censuses that are open (1790-1930) plus the slave schedules for 1850 and 1860, for the entire U.S., not just the states that are in that region. I have consulted a slave schedule on microfilm which was at my regional branch, which is located in San Bruno, Calif. so I know this works.

They're also online with all the other census on Ancestry.com. I've been browsing the ones for 1850-1860 Upshur Co., TX.
