Surnames: Pahlsten
My grandfather was Oskar Ferdinand Pahlsten born about 1875. On documents that I have he gave his origin as Lulea, Sweden. However, when I search for Pahlsten all of the results I get are for people in Finland. Can anyone tell me if Pahlsten is a Finnish name? I am beginning to suspect that his parents may have been from Finland.

Thank you

It's both, Swedish and Finnish, but not common.
I don't know what is "pahl", but "sten" is "stone" in Swedish. Pahl is just a word for surnames, I think.
