STARRAT, STARRATT, STARRETT, STARRITT, STERRITT
My STARRAT ancestors emigrated from Scotland to Ireland, then to New England abt. 1718. They stayed in Falmouth, Maine until 1764 when they went to Annapolis Co., Nova Scotia. Later my line resettled in Albert Co., New Brunswick. The earliest known STARRAT's were James, Sr. and two sons, James, Jr. and Peter STARRAT. Peter STARRAT married Eleanor Armstrong, of Falmouth, Maine. I am most interested in early STARRAT's of Ireland and Scotland, that may be ancestors of James STARRAT, Sr.

I have a Frank Starratt (probably born c. 1865) who was living in Texas in 1897. All I have is a reference that his half-brother Dr. Samuel Bentley of Nebraska was to visit him there.
This Bentley family was originally from Nova Scotia (Stewiacke and Halifax). Samuel's father died in 1859, and his mother (Emily) remarried obviously to a Mr. Starratt.

Looking for information on a John Starrett born 1740 in Londonderry, Ireland, married to Mary Webb. He had several children one by nane of Samuel born 1766 and married to Elizabeth Coppel and lived in Westmoreland Co.,PA. Any information on Johns parents or other family and imigration would be helpful.

I have just come across your message from 2001. Hope you still follow this board. My Grandmother's surname was Stirrett. She came from outside Antrim Town. We know her ancestors came from Scotland but don't have any more information. Can you tell me what your information on the Scottish origins are?
