This did help. Leona Ruth was d/o John L & Leonia Carrie Lunsford. Do you know who the parents were of Leona ruth's grandmother, Suzannah Wilhoit/ She married James B Anno.
If I could contact one of the descendants perhaps they would know.
Barbara

Hi Barbara.. wish I could tell you more.. but that is all I know. other than family stuff.. In the 50's Uncle Tom was in a wheelchair..(lost his legs I think) and he and Aunt Ruth had a pool hall in Forest City and lots of friends.. I was small and while the "adults" visited I could play pool... still am not good but was sure fun then.. have some info on their kids if that will help... am working on Stone family tree.. hit hard spot thought I might glean some info by back tracking marriages and saw your note... if I have anything you can use let me know.. doing Millers, Stones, Varvels, Guyers.. all out of Holt Co... thx Nancy

Barbara,
I have some information on James & Suzannah, but I am not at my home computer and won't be for awhile, so don't have access to it at this time. I am a decendent of james' brother John. There was quite a bit written about james & Suzannah in the History of Holt County which I have on my computer at home.

Barbara--I know your message was posted in 2002 and I don't remember if I replied then or not. I am a niece of Leonia Ruth Anno Stone. She and my dad were siblings. Their grandmother Susannah Wilhoit's mother was Jane Wilhoit of Nashville, TN. I've never found out the father's name. If you can help, I'd appreciate it. If you need any more info contact me at yahoo.com address because I don't check this very often.

I am a descendant of James Anno and Suzanna Wilhoit, through Mary Anno and George Dively, and their daughter, Myrle Dively Van Valkenburgh.

I have several pictures of the Annos in Forrest City, Mo and I'm wondering if anyone might identify any of them. They are mostly from the 1910's.

Also wondering if their are any photos of Jame and Suzannah Anno?

Many thanks,

Paul Wylde

I was raised on the Anno family farm west of Forest City, MO, in the river bottom. I've heard of all these ancestors. I can remember going to St. Joseph, Mo when I was very small to a family gathering at Van Valkenburgh's. I think they lived on Mitchel Ave. I remember being out in front of their house on the side walk. The sidewalk ran uphill with the house above the walk. My Dad, Bob Anno, used to tell my brother and I many stories of the different members of the family. I was the last of the Anno family to be born on the family farm. It was orginally belonged to James and Susannh, then John L. and Leonia, then my Dad, Bob and Mother, Edith. Dad sold it in 1952 and we moved to town. A cousin of mine still owns a small part of it as far as I know---may 50 or so acres. Email me if you want. You might sent it to my email address because I may not look at this for another year or so. I forget about it.

I may be able to identify a few in the pictures since I have several also.
