My paternal grandmother, Ida Viola Davison Boyd (2/14/1861-5/22/1946) was the daughter of Martha A Davison of Missouri (4/18/1842-9/16/1916)and Esqua Dillard Boyd of Tennessee (4/15/1837-12/1/1898), who were married on November 26, 1857. Martha A Davison was a descendent of Joshua Davi(d)son (8/12/1793-6/3/1850) m.Elizabeth A Glover in 1819. He was from Prince Edward County, VA and she from Newton County,MO. Joshua's parents were George 1762-1838 and Lucretia McDearman Davison 1769-1850 approx.
They were married in Maury Co. Tennessee on 2/9/1790. Lucretia's father was Dudley McDearman of Polk County, MO. Joshua and his brother,Brackett Davi(d)son, served in the same company during the War of 1812 and fought together in the battle of New Orleans under General Jackson (also an ancestor of mine). Brackett Davi(d)son dropped the second "d" for some unknown reason the year of 1830, as shown in the family bible, although his military record showed Davison as his last name.

Absolutely!! I recently met a lady in a bible study class who is also related to Brackett Davison, and I have a little information from her as well. It will take me awhile to get it into my computer, however. If you have a fax machine handy, I have one and would be glad to fax it or mail it to you. Otherwise it will be awhile, as I said. I guess I could scan it, I just got my scanner, though, so I'm not very good at it yet. I also have the name of a man who was in the Marines and stationed in Okinawa at the same time I lived over there, but didn't have his info until several years after I came back home. He is also in the Brackett line. I can't wait to hear from you. I am totally new at this geneology thing, but I am totallly hooked. Michelle

Janie - yes, I would love to get that information from you...how do you have it, disc, online or paper? If you would email me I would really appreciate it. Also, I am taking a class with a girl who is descended from the same family of Davisons. She says he was the doctor - can't remember his first name, but I know she also has info. on Brackett and I'll see if she has anything you don't....okay? I'm in southwestern Missouri.

Hi, I am to understand that Bracketts father was George Davison. He married Lucretia McDearmon on Feb. 9, 1790. The only thing on her that I have is her father, Dudley, and his father, Micheal McDearmon. Can anyone share some more information on this with me? Thanks a bunch.
