my Grandmother was born in Ft. Smith, Arkansas. She was Myrtle Othello WADDELL, daughter of Adriniram Judson WADDELL, Grandaughter of Joseph Wallace WADDELL. My Waddell family lived in central Arkansas, around Sheridan in Grant Co. They came from MS.

I have just started tracing this line, so I don't have much. I know that Elam and Margaret Reed (Campbell)Waddell were in MS, and I think they had a bunch of children. One of their daughters, Mary Rosanna, married James A. Gordon in Attila Co., MS, in 1847. At some point they all moved to Ark.

James and Mary (Waddell) Gordon had at least one daughter, Mary Rosanne, who married John Brantley Gean (my great-grandfather).

My grandparents moved to Jonesboro Ar in 195o's E. St Louis Mo.
His name is Herbert F. Waddell and was born April 16, 1914. He is still living.
My grandmother is Thelma D. Overby. They had 5 daughters Donna, Judy, Peggy, Herberta, Pamela.

James had four daughters , Bessie married a Oscar Hochuli lived in Little Rock, Elizabeth married a Robinson , Grace Maud married a Ben Forrest, Max
Finch , Mount Stoy. Zola married a Huggs. Pearl married a Arnold they died in a car crash and their daughter
that lived with Grace. James son was L. G. or Noland Waddell. Iam trying to find where James is buried . he died in 1924 and wife in 34 . I thought
they lived close to Stutagart, Since my mother Eunice Forrest was born their in 1905.but lived most of her life in Hope Ar.

I am sorry. our waddell family came from va. to Ky. to mo. to calif. back to mo. then to Ar. they came to ar. from mo. in 1898.we are related to the Morrison family My ggrandfather was James Monroe waddell, his father was John G. Waddell born 1825 in Ky.then James H waddell born in va,.. I do not know of any Joseph waddell. sorry I

Hi Debbie, My grandfather (Floyd Waddell) had a brother by the name of Herbert Waddell who at one time lived in Jonesboro Ark. I don't know if this is the same man that you where talking about.
