Marilyn,
Do you know how the Lawrence Co. Thrashers are related to the Aldridges? My gg-grandmother Mahalia ( Elliott) Thrasher has James Allred listed as a relative and I have a picture of a headstone taken at the Thrasher cemetery with the name of Rev. F. Aldridges. I think they are related somehow but haven't been able to figure out how.
Thank you
Jerry

I am researching the Cunningham line from Bedford Co., TN and Lawrence Co., AL. My great-great grandfather Jesse James Cunningham was born in 1814 in Bedford Co., TN and his family moved to Lawrence Co., AL by 1820.

I would be happy to exchange information.

Marilyn, I just started looking at my family tree a couple of weeks ago. Although I can't share much information right now, I really enjoyed reading your post. I believe that Nancy M. Alexander and James A. Aldridge were my gggrandparents. My ggrandparents were George F. Aldridge and Lettia Roberts. My grandmother was Mamie Aldridge and was born in Moulton, AL. She moved to Ellis County, TX with her parents when she was young. (Ellis is next to Hill county and my family still lives there.) Mamie married Clarence R. Cunningham. My mother, Mary Lou Cunningham Gillespie, is their youngest daughter. You can see how much your post interested me with so many of my family names - Alexander, Aldridge, Cunningham, Gillespie. Thank you very much for sharing. Carol
