I am trying to find information on David & Rachael Sizemore. I have found some 1860 census records where it shows David Sizemore (born 1814) living with Rachael Sizemore who is 2 years older than him (born in 1812) and there are 3 children in the house so I'm assuming that Rachael was his first wife and they had those children together. The only records I can find on Rachael are 2 census records where she is living with David & it doesn't list the relation to head of house. I have also found a 1850 Census record on a Rachael Sisemore, (born 1815 in Virginia)Living in Kentucky. I'm not sure if it's the same person because none of the same people are in the household, her name is spelled different, and the birth year is different, though all are close.
I Could assume that Rachael was born in VA then her & her family moved to KY, then sometime in the early 1850s she moved to GA and married David Sizemore then they were divorced by 1868 when he married Margaret Merrit Purvis BUT I have no way to confirm that... I'm lost...

Anyone have any information on these people? I'm ready to give up and pay a researcher to find all of this out for me. :(

William is Crawford on the 1850 census. I didn’t look for Lucinda, Thomas or Delia. Rachael most likely died before he md. Margaret.

You need to see what records are available for Emanuel Co., GA.

Well I don't know if David actually ever married racahel because records I've seen show her last name as sizemore when she lived on Kentucky, years before David shows up on any records with her.

I could assume that David was fullblood indian and rachael was english so he took her name when they married which would explain why I can't find anything on david sizemore before 1850 BUT I have no records to proove any of that nor do I have any records to prove they were married.

One more thing!

Assuming your theory is correct (Rachael & David were married then Rachael died so he married Margaret), then what happened to their children when Rachael died?

And how do you know that the 1840 census record you found for David Sizemore is my David? All it shows is that one name... unless I'm missing something?
