Am having loads of problems finding my Elizabeth Wood
marriage to William Flowerday Silcock -publican.
I believe she was born circa 1835 (from census) at
Worplesdon, Surrey. died 28 sept.1894 at 5 Eccles Road,
Battersea, Surrey. Their first child (I think) was
Elizabeth Martha Rosina Silcock b. 11 June 1857,
New Pond, Guildford- 10 children in all - any help
most welcome!

Diane,
The marriage you are looking for appears as follows in the UK GRO (General Records Office) marriage index -
Dec 1873 (ie., 4th quarter, 1873) - Silcock William Flowerday Holborn 1b 1072 / Woods Elizabeth Holborn 1b 1072. Holborn is, of course, a registration district in London.

Rob carter -
Many thanks for the info on William Flowerday Silcock
and Elizabeth Wood, I have been looking for them for
ages in all sorts of places but not Holborn!!(none of
their children were born there nor were they!)
I am sorry that it has taken me so long to thank you
but I have been unwell and also my dad has moved in
with us and its taken a while for things to settle
down which is why today was the day for me to get to
my emails - all 57 of them!! arghhh!!!!!!!! Pass the
coffee and keep it coming -
many thanks again

I'm looking for info on William George Wood born Mar. 18, 1899 in Upper Norwood, London. Do you have the GRO UK info for that time or just before (trying to find his parents and sibblings) and would you be willing to check it for me if you do? Thanks.

Lynne,
Sorry, I don't have any record of William George Wood born Mar. 18, 1899 in Upper Norwood (my interest is the Silcock family) and work commitments preclude me from checking the GRO index in the foreseeable future. Hopefully someone else based in the UK will pick up this query and post a reply. Rob
