I only have access to the Index for the Tithe Applotment Books.

Archibald McGregor
Parish of Kilmore
Townland of Mooney!!!!
1833

Archibald was the only McGregor in the index, but these are not always accurate.

I am not sure what is shown in the index. Does it have names? If so, do you have any surname HART showing? Thanks for any help you can provide.

The index shows the info as posted.
There was only one listing of that name' so I was able to help.
It gives the name, the parish and location, (townland or town).
There would be Harts, but I would need a location or first name as the index shows all the Harts in the book.
(There may be a few mistakes and omissions).
They would take a long time to check, without more information.

I have had a look at your other listing re Samuel Hart & Rebecca Kelly.
You say Samuel was born near Belfast in 1815, but married in Clare Presbyterian Church in Armagh.
If you listed the children in order of age, there is a chance Samuel's father was named James.
I could not find any Harts or Kellys in Co. Cavan, in the Tithe Applotment inddex, but the index is not always accurate.
There were c. 40 Harts listed for Armagh.
I am not sure of the location of this church, as I live in Co. Down.
I will have a look at this again, and try to post the list of Harts later. It may be tomorrow before I get time.
There were too many Kelly names to list.

Thank you! Since I wrote that earlier posting I have learned that the family memories of "Cavan" apparently did not refer to Co. Cavan, but instead to Cavan townland in Co. Armagh. Suddenly I find Harts - whom I never found in Co. Cavan! Yes, Samuel Hart and Rebecca Kelly were married in Clare Presbyterian Church in Co. Armagh - not too far from Cavan townland! There are many Kellys in Co. Armagh, I know, but fewer Harts I think. Samuel Hart was born abt. 1815. His marriage to Rebecca Kelly was March 15, 1840. I have had some hints that Samuel Hart's father might have been James Hart, but not enough to be sure. What did you learn about James? Samuel Hart and his new wife Rebecca Kelly Hart went "immediately" after their marriage to Canada where their children were born. Maurice Hart b. Dec 25, 1840. James Hart b. 1843. Martha Jane Hart b. 1844. Samuel Hart Jr. b. ?. Maurice Hart m. a neighbor, Catherine Minish May 3, 1866. (I have hints that the Minishes were from the same area in Ireland.) Their children were named Samuel, David Lorenzo, Margaret, Ella, Charles Merrill, Eli Maurice, Agnys ("Nancy"), Anna Bella, and John Hart. Eli was my grandfather.

I have been unable to find info about Samuel Hart's family in Ireland, and have only little info re Rebecca Kelly's family in Ireland. Her parents were James Kelly and perhaps Jane ?. Her sisters were Anna Bella, Jane, Mary, and she (Rebecca) was the youngest. No brothers.

If you have any hints about how to find Samuel Hart's forebears, I would greatly appreciate that.

Thanks,
Karen Hart Anthony

I was trying to remember the Irish naming pattern, but I got a bit confused, I think.
I have a note of them somewhere.
I looked up Clare Church, and I see it is in Tandragee, and near the border between Armagh and Down.

Margaret, thank you! It seems quite possible that James Hart on that list, from Kilmore Parish, Ballyloughan Townland, is Samuel Hart's brother, as Samuel was born about 1815, according to his grandson (Eli Hart, my grandfather). Eli Hart also said that Samuel's brother James Hart was born in 1818.
Can you verify what the date at the end of the name, 1833, indicates? Many thanks.

Just found your message, as my E mails were not getting through.
The year is probably when the tithe was paid.
