Hi Sheena,
I saw your message looking for 'Callows' My Husband David Callow Clark's gt.gt. Grandfather was Martin Callow Iron Miner and he is descended from his son Martin Thomas Callow born 1861 in I.O.Man. I have a note of them on the 1881 and 1891 Censuses if you do not have the information and have a note of the Death Certificates of Martin and his wife Catherine. Hope to hear from you. Margaret

Margaret.Thank you for your response.I have traced My Callows back to the 1839,IOM.I did check the census-1881,1891and 1901.and I have copies of latter 2.I do not have a copy of Catherine and Martin's marrage, just what I have seen listed on the Scot.Registar.I did receive ,from a IOM resident, info taken from the IOM 1861 census of the following:-" 1861 census district 5,entry 80,Quarter land
Martin Callow,head,married,22.Lead miner,Maughold.
Catherine,wife,married,22,domestic affairs,/Andreas.
Catherine,daughter,unmarried,1."
also:-
"1851 census.district 2,entry 29.Ballacrebbin.
Thomas Radcliffe,maried,51,labourer,Andreas.
Isabella,wife,married,49, Andreas.
Catherine,daughter,unmarried,12, Andreas.
Elizabeth,daughter,9, Andreas."
Also I received contact from Clive Callow- Rockhaven@xtra.co.nz Who has an intensive research on the IOM Callows.
He added to the latter above-Isabella = Anderson.and Robert Radcliffe, brother of Catherine,b 1829-.You might want to get in touch with Clive-he is a mind of info.
Re tree on the Scottish side I can send that to your e mail ,if you wish.Note I had thought it was Catherine Redfern [ family info] But I now believe it to be Radcliffe.
If I can be of further assistance then please email me .Great to hear from another cousin.Sheena.Texas USA.

Sorry Sheena, I do not have any more on the Dunns but leave it with me as I am going to New Register House soon and it should not be hard to find a 'Violet' surely. Did you want my info on Ewen Callow and his Family or do you have that? I spoke to David's Uncle Martin Callow to-night who is 83 but he does not remember any more info about the Family.
Be in touch again soon. Margaret

Hello my name is Martin Callow. I live in Fife and have been trying to do my family tree. My fathers name is martin too and so was his father my grandad. My grandad was born roughly about 1900 and died about early mid 80s in paisley. I dont know where he was born though but I think he desents from the iom callows going by all of this . My grandfather was in the war so I think mabye he was born in Ayreshire and moved to paisley after leaving the army, I have three old photos of him in an Argyle and sutherland highlanders uniform on . anyway if you think you know anything about his tree please email me martincallow2004@yahoo.co.uk thanks very much.

Sheena,
We have had some contact in the past and I can't remeber if it was before or after the date of the post to which I am now replying.
If you still need info on Violet Dunn I have the full connection.
Let me know if you still need it.
