Looking for the parents of a Joel STOW who married Francis ST. JOHN in Charlotte County, Virginia on March 19, 1786. Francis ST. JOHN was a daughter of Abraham ST. JOHN.

I believe Abraham St.John may be my great-great-greatgrandfather and have been unable to find our very little information on him. I do not know what his wife's name was, what county in Virginia they resided in and how many children they have. I know that my great-greatgrandfather was James St.John and we believe Abraham was his father. Please let me know what you have.

The only info. I have on Abraham St. John is that his wife was Mary Harris and they had a daughter named Nancy

This could be my husband's line. His line goes Abraham, Abraham, Jacob, James K.P., Martin. They have been in Charlotte Co. since mid/late 1700's. The names Abraham and James are numerous. Which one are you?

I'm not the person whom who directed the note to, but maybe you you will be able to help me. Our James moved to Heard Co, Georgia then on to Troup Co, Georgia.

He married the wife that we know Elizabeth (last name unknown) we think before 1830 and we can document him there.

The problem, he has everything listed as being born in North Carolina and in the 1850 census he is 60 years of age meaning he is born in North Carolina ABT 1790.

This is also shown, William is with him in the same county, as well as half his age Thomas B.

I am working with this with another cousin and we are of the belief that he had another marriage in North Carrolina and either the wife died, the children had grown etc... and he found a new life. Well it can happen! He is 60 years of age and is oldest showing on the 1850 census is 18 years of age and that's our decendent. Can you or anyone help?

His parents were Joel Johnston (Johnson) Stow (b. ~ 1732 in Whitley, KY) and Susannah (?). I haven't been able to go any further than that (I thought Joel Sr. may be the son of William Stowe and Margaret Fitzgerald, but their son Joel, married to a Susannah, was born in 1722 and I think it's a different Joel).

I'd appreciate any information beyond Joel.

I am looking for information on a Mr. St. John, father of 7 children (Nancy, James, Thomas, Charles, George, Margaret and Jacob). I have family bibles from his wife and Jacob, neither of which list the father's name. The wife's name is Margaret Grover (born 1776 - died 1846).
