I would like info on ancesters of John Gensler of Monroe County, Mich. He was my grandfather, and was born on a ship at sea while his parents were sailing to this country from Germany. Second wife was Minnie Ott, also of Monroe County, Mich. He died in 1941, at the age of 80.

John Gensler would be my GreatgreatGrandfathers Brother. His church records are on microfilm at the monroe county library Ellis center. He was a member of Ida West Immanuel church. There is also a Township Plot map that shows where his property was. He owned Property next to his brother Lewis near LuLu Michigan. He is Burried in the LuLu cemetary, located on the south side of LuLu road just west of town. His obituary can be purchased at the Monroe Museum.

I vaguely remember my mom, who was a gensler talking about her Uncle John being born on a ship on it's way here from Germany. My grandfather is Arthur H. Gensler, he married Florence B. Todd. They are vuried in LuLu Cemetary. I can tell you that there are lots of Gensler graves at the cemetary, if you go, stay straight, they are right in front faving west. I know this because every year mom and aunt would put flowers on their graves. I would ask my mom about this, however, she passed away in Dec. and ironically, my grandfather will be gone 34 years tomorrow. i know quite a bit, it's just a matter of remembering. if i can help you in any other way, please let me know.
