While researching my husband's maternal Cameron family, I discovered the baptismal record of his great-grandfather, O'Kain Cameron as well as all of his siblings in the records of Mount St. Patrick, Renfrew County, Ontario (January 26, 1850. The parents of these six Cameron children were Alexander Cameron and Flora Gillespie of McNab Township, Renfrew County. O'Kain's godparents were Okean (sic) Joseph Cameron and Ann McIntosh. Sponsor for his sisters Flora and Isabelle was Flora Paign (sic). Godparents for the remaining siblings were Donald McIntosh, Catherine McDonell, and Mary McIntosh. The 1851/52 census reveals an O'Kain J. Cameron and Ann McIntosh living in Ross Township, Renfrew County. I don't know whether or not I am grasping at straws, but there seem to be some connections here that I cannot pin down. Can anyone help?

There is an Ann (Nancy) McIntosh (1810-1901) who married O'Kane J. Cameron (d. 27-03-1891)in 1836. They had no children.

Thank you for your response. It looks as if this Ann McIntosh could be correct. I wasn't too clear in my post - I'm wondering if O'Kain J. Cameron had a sister or aunt named Isabelle or Isabella. An Isabella Cameron, born in Canada in the 1790s married Thomas Payne in Glengarry (not sure about the date. In the 1851/52 Census, Isabella and Thomas lived in Chichester, Quebec. The name O'Kain occurs frequently in my husband's Cameron family.
