My Keatings came from Tipperary, Cashel and might have traveled through Cork to get to Canada. I am looking for Keatings from Cashel area. My James Keating was married to Ellen Cormick and on the trip to Canada he died. I would love to find some info about their families. James son Patrick is the only one of his children to have had children so we are the line as it is.

I'm not sure where my Keatings came from in Ireland (I've heard both Cork and Clare), but I also have O'Neill's, but on my mother's side...any possibility of a connection there? My Keatings settled in Newtown, CT. The O'Neill's were from upstate New York...very hard to trace either side. Does this ring any bells?

I am curious about your Keatings. There was a young man in about 1970 in Yonkers who was a Keating - his picture was in the newspaper. He looked so much like Patrick Keating - my gr grandfather it was amazing. Are you related to any Keating who lived in Yonkers?? Also one of my cousin's daughters is married to a Keating from Ct.
We had some O'Neills who lived in Rochester. they came there from Canada at the turn of the century. marg

My grand mother was Margaret Flora Keating. She was born in RockyBay, Cape Breton to Nicholas Keating and Mary McGrath. This Nicholas Keating was the son of Nicholas Keating who married Anne Kavanagh in Rocky Bay. This early Nicholas Keating we believe came to Canada in the early 1800s from Ireland. He had a brother who settled in NY City. We can't find anymore information about the Keating family from this point.

Hi All I am Keating from Cork. I am currently trying to put my family tree together. The majority of the family seem to have stayed in Ireland/England. However there was a John T Keating who was a political campaigner in NewYork/Boston. He was born in Cork around 1852. His fathers name was Daniel Dominic Keating. His brothers were Dominic, Robert & Alfred. In my search I have come across the following contact, Noreen Keating. She is Hon Sec. of the keating Clan in Ireland. Unfortunately there was no e-mail address, therefore you may have to write to her for info.
Keating Clan status = active contact: Ms. Noreen Keating Geary, Ard na Li, 9 Old Spa Road, Clonmel, County Tipperary, Ireland
Good luck in your search. If I can be of help, feel free to contact me.
