Hello!
Mt Ida cemetery is located on Hwy 329, outside of De Queen, Arkansas. I am on the board of directors for the cemetery, that name isn't coming to mind but when I am out there next I will look for you and also check our listings. I have 4 generations of family buried there.

On Find-a-grave for Mt. Ida cemetery there are the names of Samuel Caldwell and Virginia Caldwell; but the dates do not agree with the information I have. An obit notice in a Texas paper says that Sam died Aug. 4, 1938, at DeQueen. I would like to find how and where to look up death certificates in Sevier county. These may not be my people, but I want to double check any info available for them. Thank you for any help or suggestions.

Hello!
You can obtain death certificates from the Arkansas Dept of Health in Little Rock. I believe the fee is either $10.00 or $15.00
I will check with the funeral home that has been here since 1929. They keep very good records and are willing to assist.
I will write the names and dates you have and then go visit with them! I knew Dan and Earl Caldwell, could they have been sons of your Caldwells?

My Caldwells were Samuel B. born 1857 in Dallas County, Texas, died Aug 4, 1938, in DeQueen. His wife was Virginia Singletary, born 1867 in Panola County, Texas. I have not been able to find her after the 1920 Lubbock, Texas, census. They had one daughter, Eula May, who married Elmer Lowrey; she died Mar. 30, 1994, in DeQueen (I have been told). Their son Herbert Dee died in New Mexico in 1934. Perhaps you might want to contact me at josing@juno.com Since the obit says Sam died in DeQueen I am hoping Virginia also was there at some point. Many thanks.
