5 born PEI 2 Born Scotland
2 males 16-45 born between 1790-1835 (could this be Benjamin)

1 female 16-45 born between 1790-1835

In the 1880 Atlas there was a listing for a Hector McNeill from Cape Traverse lot 28.
Then found a Benjamin born about 1836 and married to Catherine Cameron.
QUESTION 1. Is Hector the father of John and Roderick in the 1841 Census?
QUESTION 2. Does anyone know who the Females are in the 1841 Census?
QUESTION 3. is Benjamin the other 16-45 male in Roderick's family?

In the 1881 Census for lot 28
Benjamin age 45 family 21
Hector age 40 family 22
Peter age 25 family 23

QUESTION 4. Since these people live next to each other are they related?

Any help that i could get to prove to disprove that all these McNeill's are
related would be appreciated.
Thanks in advance

Hi Phyllis in answer to your questions as best I can:
Yes it is likely they are all related living around same lot - sis/brother or cousins' etc.......look closely at the religions as if they are RC and on same lot is Presbytarian they are most likely not related.....

Their are many McNeills from Lots 28, 29, 30 and 65 almost all crossing paths so to speak..
Use www.rootweb.com and search bars - type in parents names on right and children you know on left - with or without spouses - try it all - and the family should pop up at you! With the names , etc you should be able to tell by approx birht years, kin, etc.......

As well, some mcneill family trees including a Roderick line posted on www.islandregister.com

The other McNeill familys - there are 2 more in this area - stem but I dont see Roderick - Kim McMillan - uses Rootsweb so you might see her name in rootsweb message boards - connect with her as she has a McMillan tree online mixing into McNeills - may be same line as one posted on islandregister going further back -been awhile since I was at her site and you need a password to use it....

Hope this helps - if you get to PEI they may have family on cards (done by PEI Genealogy Society) with the families names written out on them - if you go to www.edu.pe.ca you will find census records search - later years 1880 giving you names of everyone on lots - relgion etc - it may help
