Searching for family of Rose Vasek who came to America with her son Frank Vasek. Name of Frank's father unknown but he was named for his grandfather. Frank's mother Rose was not married. They came to America in or about 1882 and eventually settled in Fayette County, Texas. Rose married Josef Bartos in 1890. Any help greatly appreciated.Frank Vasek's daughter was my grandmother. She always wondered about the family but it was not talked about.

This is what i have. Emanuel Vasek married Hermina Melnar in 1935. Emanuel parents: Bohumil Vasek and Nutzie Valigura.
Emanuel was prob born in 1900 or so. That would mean his folks born in the 1880s.

Emanuel and Hermina's children:

Herman

Sophie

Victor

Victoria

Vivian

Perhaps Bohumil is a relation to Rose. I guess the next thing would be to find out Bohumil's parents if they are known and to see if there is a death certificate. Next time I get to the courthouse in Hallettsville I can check for you.

Less my gma would know anything. She lives upthere and is 80 years old. SHe has a pretty good memory.

I know that my Vasek family was in Fayette County, Texas in
the early 1900's but I don't know if any made it to Lavaca
County. Wouldn't be surprised though since it is a neighboring county. My line comes from Frantisek Vasek and his mother Rose Vasek. Frantisek was born in Moravia 1876,his mother 1849 or 1852.Rose was not married to her son's father. They came to America in 1882 from Vlcovice.
Frantisek (Frank) married Hermina Konecny, daughter of Mary and Vincenc Konecny. She was also born in Moravia (or Bohemia) in 1878.Frank and Hermina were married in Fayette
County, Texas 26 June 1899.Their Children were Minnie b. 1901,Maria b.1902,Frederik (later changed to Fred Ben)b.1904,Stefana (called Steva and sometimes Shiffie)b.1905,Raimond Adolph (later changed to Raymon Andrew)b. 1908,Alva (aka Alvie)b.1909,Frantiska (aka Frankie)b.1910,Wesley b.1912, Annie b.1915,Inez, and Vada b.1921. If any of these ended up in Lavaca County,Texas I'd sure like to know. Most ended up in north Texas.I think Inez is the only one still living. Some were born in Dubina, some in Ammannsville and Frank (the father) was shown living in Weimar,Texas at one time though his daughter was born at Dubina, Texas.Frankie was my grandmother. If you have any knowledge of any of these, or know someone who does, I sure would appreciate if you could share it with me.Thanks for responding to my message.
