Below is a transcription of text interesting to my Steichen family history (I do not have the source document). However, I also do not know whether this is well-transcribed Lëtzebuergesch or poorly transcribed or written German. Determining that fact would be useful first step. If it is Lëtzebuergesch then I would greatly appreciate a translation by a competent reader, as would other researchers of this family. Thanks, Tom Steichen

I forgot to mention that the document was from 1687... that may be important to know.

You might try contacting Rene Daubenfeld for helping with the translation. He has a web site at www.haffen.lu

Hi Kathy, Thanks for the suggestion; I was not aware of his efforts. However, for others who might read your post, I believe the correct website address is www.haffren.lu (the r was missing in your version). Tom

Surnames: Steichen/ Hentgen
Hi, My name is Deborah Hentgen..I came across your post. My husband Larry Hentgen's Grandparents were Antione Hentgen who was married to Marianne Steichen.
Any information or translation that you need can come from our cousin Pierre Hentgen who lives in Luxembourg. hentgen@pt.lu He has a lot of information that can help you. The Steichens and Hentgens all come from Luxembourg. I noticed in the post Hettingen..so I assumed the name was Hentgen.
Hope this helps you in your search
