We have learned that "Lizzie" MOORE is actually Mary Elizabeth MOORE, that she was born abt. 1836, Indiana and d. bet. 1870 - 1875, Indiana. Have yet to find her parents or siblings, so sorry we cannot make a connection to your Rachel nor do we have any CAYLORs in our family file.
Good hunting!

I have an Iva CAYLER who married George William MOORE, 12 Apr 1903 in Hendricks Co.

George William MOORE was born 25 Aug 1874 in Virginia.
He died 11 Dec 1921 in Hendricks Co.
His parents were James E. Moore (1851-1932) and Lucinda M. Hopkins (1852-1920), both born in SW Virginia and died in Hendricks Co.

If there is a connection, I'd be interested in Iva's family and any children of George W. and Iva. I have lots on the MOOREs to share.

I've just run across a Rachel Moore in my research on the Caylers of Iowa. Per an article in the "Directory of Appanoose County", pertaining to John Cayler, "There (Fayette County, Ohio) at 19 year of age he married Miss Rachel Moore; she was born in Kentucky in 1800. They remained there for seven years, then removed to Hendricks County, Indiana and there engaged in farming for 27 years, or until 1851, when they came to this county where he has followed his usual occupation since, with the exception of one year in which with his wife and daughter he went to Idaho for their health, his wife being benefited by the journey. They have had 16 children, eleven of whom are now living-Elender, Adam, Jane, George W, William R, Rachel, Elsie, Elizabeth, Ezekiel, Mahala, and Marion."

I also researched the Cayler (Caylor) family of Iowa (Appanoose Co.) several years ago. My g-g-grandfather was William R. Cayler, one of John and Rachel's sons mentioned in the Appanoose County book. Several years (15!) have passed since my research, and my father currently has my records, but I seem to recall that Rachel's father was named George, and I may have his wife's name. Those names may have come from an obituary - I will have to check my records. John Caylor / Cayler moved (with his brother Jacob, I believe) from Loudoun County, Virginia to Ohio. Jacob and his wife Catherine stayed in Ohio (buried in Staunton, OH). (That information I received from another descendant of John, who was also researching the line.) John and Rachel moved on to Hendricks County, IN and then to Appanoose County, IA. Please e-mail me at jgoettsch@bspmlaw.com or at jgoettsch@kc.rr.com - I am interested in picking this back up and look forward to sharing information.

No, I am sorry I don't. I do travel Iowa's by roads, if I see anything like that I'll pass on the information. Tell your friend Hi! from a cousin. I am familiar with the dairy business and have written Jim. It is my hope to meet Jim someday.
