I have to set the record straight. Martin Dasher was not married to Ursula Sweighoffer. She married John Martin Paulitsch. The original records were transcribed incorrectly, and everyone keeps copying them. Poor Ursula Sweighoffer seemed to be producing babies for both men sometimes within the same month! Martin's wife was Ursula "Lucy" Meier/Meyer. Her brother Heinrich Meyer and Martin were always in trouble together. Her father was Thomas Meyer and her mother Magdelena Ursula (-). As the Widow Meyer she and Ursula lived at the orphanage. Bolzius in his journal recounts many of the problems of Martin Dasher and his affair with the young Ursula.

Do you have any documentation that Martin Dasher married Ursula Meyer other than supposition? I am certain he did not marry Ursula Schweighofer also because of the church records of her marriage to Paultisch.

Michelle, I read your post today. I am a descendant of Martin Dasher. I have been researching the Ursula's trying to find the one who is my great, great, great, great grandmother. Do you know where Martin is buried? Also, do you know if he was from Switzerland? The info that I have indicates that he is from Switzerland. Do you know which ship he was transported on to America and when? I can't find that info either. Do you ever attend the Salburgers' Celebration at Ebenezer, GA on Labor Day? I attended this year, last year, and a few years ago. I will be anxioulsy awaiting to hear from you. How are you related to Martin? Also, I find where his name was Martin and in other places John Martin. Which one is correct to your knowledge? Thank you so much for your time. Linda D. Brannen, GA.
