I, too, am searching for Preston information. I am looking for information on Philip Preston who married ?Mary? They had a daughter Sarah Susan Preston who married William Haney in Bedford Co. VA. They had a sons Moses and Philip Preston, and probably others. Some of these moved from VA to Floyd Co. KY in the early 1800s. Philip's wife may have married a Doss after his death in the 1750's.

Seeking information which will lead me to the Revolutionary War records of Moses Preston. He was born abt 1762 in Bedford County, VA, married Frances Arthur in Bedford County on 9 Jul 1783, and died in Lawrence County, KY on 18 Apr 1842. I am a descendant through his daughter Lynchia, who married John M. Price on 29 Dec 1808.

Thanks in advance,

Frank

Hi Frank,

I am also decended from Moses Preston through his son Moses "Coby" Preston. Several years ago, I obtained his Revolutionary War pension file from the National Archives.
Their website, (www.nara.gov), can instruct you how to order a copy of the file for yourself. The contents should include Moses's petition for a pension and Nathan Preston's
declaration supporting his claim from 1818; an afadavit by Moses in 1828 challenging the suspension of the pension; Fanny Arthur Preston's request to receive Moses's pension
after his death in 1842 and a letter from the County Clerk of Bedford, VA certifying a record of their marriage. There is also a request by Moses's children to transfer his
pension to them after Fanny's death. If you wish to exchange further information with me about our common Preston ancestors, please email me a svm@home.com.

Your message states a book by the DAR on the Moses Family.. Will it also include Nathan Preston's line. Nathan was my ggggrandfather , therefore I am very interested in such a book. Please advise. Thank you.
