The Sanders I'm tracing are Henry Elphick Sanders born 1857 and is on 1881 census at 32 Avenell Rd London (Near the Arsenal). At that time he was married to Elizabeth M and had daughter Elizabeth C.

1901 census shows them at 56 Antill Rd Tottenham now with sons Henry W (my grandfather), Sydney Elphick (killed in WW1 check out my website on him at http://uk.geocities.com/britishimages/sydney/)
and Frederick. Also daughters Ethel and Mabel D.

In 1914 they were at 159 Philip Lane, West Green Tottenham.

Any info would be appreciated.

Searching for Madeline Lily Elphick (born 1890/91) who married Walter William Green in 1920 in Steyning, Sussex

Witnesses to Madeline's marriage were Frederick Victor Elphick and Louisa Edith Elphick (nee Coussens) who were married in 1895 in Brighton

Any connections?

Hi Judy,

Probably not, as Elphick appears to be a christian name in our family, but good luck with your search.

all the best

Hi Deborah,

Doesn't sound like there's any connection. The Arsenal I'm talking about is in Islington North London. The original football team at the woolwich arsenal moved to this area in 1913.
