Have you contacted Charles DURFEE? On the RootsWeb page, click Family Trees in the strip at the top. On the next page, click Advanced Search. That follows Royal "Roy" DURFEY / DURFEE.

Also, Google this: "Gladys A. Stark" +Durfey

That will bring up some messages including that James STARKS was a boarder with Nina [DOTY] RHODES in 1900, Woodward Co., OK, but soon married her and had Gladys--who wouldn't have been born before the 1900 census. In Beaver Co., OK, 1910, STARKS, J. H., 29, b. MO; Nina, 42, IL, had had 5 ch., 4 living, incl. Gladis STARKS, 8, b. OK.

If you do not have a paid account at Ancestry, you can still verify that the families were there by Googling "1930 census." For 1910, hold the cursor over the name without clicking to see the names and ages for the household.

She died in 1948 and was buried in Follett, Lipscomb Co., TX.

There is a book at the LDS (Mormon) Library on the family of James STARK of Stafford Co., VA, who is probably the immigrant ancestor of this line. There are also DNA projects that have identified descendants at FamilyTree DNA com. Do you know a male relative with the surname STARK? James STARK had a brother William, 28 in 1910, and a son James, 5 in 1910.

--My line is from Aaron STARK of Connecticut.
