My great grandmother was listed on her marriage certificate as LOUSIA Rosengrant b. Tunkhannock July 8, 1875 m. Feb 22nd 1890 in Jenningville PA to George M. Comstock. Death Notice Listed her as Loa Comstock. Comstock Book listed her as the daughter of Jackson and Permelia (Harding) Rosencrans. I have reached a deadend. Was she really the daughter of Jackson and Permilia or just cared for by them?

You may already have searched this info but a resident's list of the Starksville Cemetary near West Nicholson(Wyoming County) contains allot of info on the Rosengrant Lineage.
I have allot of Squier ancestors in this Cemetary.
I thought this might have some clues. I know the frustration of tracking things with poor documentation. Nobody alive remembers anything except the "BAD APPLES".

Do you know if Louisa remarried a man named Leonard Howe and if they ever lived in the Bronx, NY?

I saw your Rosengrant query, and am curious to know if you have found Louisa's parents. My Rosengrant connection is JOHN Rosengrant b. abt. 1820, son of Levi. He and his first wife, Phebe Harris, had a daughter LOUISA b. Feb. 1849, apparently a twin. They are in Eaton twp. 1850 and 1860 census.

Please let me know if any connection, looking for Phebe's family.
thanks

My paternal great grandmother was Permelia Ann Harding, who first married Jackson Rosengrant/Rosencrans. They had two sons and a daughter, Louisa Ellen. My dad always referred to her as Aunt Loa. I believe that she was named for Permelia's sister, Louisa. Permelia was married a second time, in 1886, to Charles F. Myers, my great grandfather. They had one son, my grandfather, Lorenzo (Ren). Jack Rosengrant remarried a second time to Frances Wilson. They had children too. I believe that Permelia had another son, Mark, in between her marriages to Jack and Charles. It's been tough trying to piece information together. My dad had a photo of your great grandmother, taken probably in the 1950's. I also have a photo of Permelia. 'Hope this helps.

My great grandmother, Permelia Harding Myers, and her sister, Louisa Harding Crawford, were the daughters of Thomas Harding and Nancy Rosengrant. As far as I know, our Louisa was not a twin. I believe that Nancy's father was Levi Rosencrans. Thomas died about 1883; Nancy, before that. They lived in Wyoming County, PA.

Hello!
Nancy Rosengrant was sister to my John Rosengrant, b. abt. 1822 PA. Died 12 August 1906, Mehoopany, PA. Their parents were Levi Rosengrant b. 1757, and Sally McDonald.

It seems that your Louisa Crawford was a generation younger. Let me know if that is correct.

And since you mention Thomas HARDING, we are looking for John's wife's family. He m. Phoebe HARRIS, and we have reason to believe her parents were William Harris and Lucy HARDING. Lucy was b. between 1775 and 1780. They lived in Kingston twp. area, and William Harris died 25 Mar 1835 or 1836. Lucy is found in 1850 census, died in abt. 1851. Let me know if you find anything here that rings a bell in Harding line. thank you!

Yes, Louisa was a daughter of Thomas and Nancy (Rosengrant) HARDING (my great-great grandparents). There is much information on the Hardings at the Wyoming County, PA, Historical Society. I've found little on Thomas and Nancy so far. They were listed as the parents on the death certificate of my great grandmother, Permelia (Harding) MYERS. Her first husband was listed as Jackson ROSENGRANT. There is supposed to be a book online: "The Hardings in America: A Genealogical Register of the Descendants of John Harding, of England", by Wilber J. Harding (1925, reprinted 1998). It might help.

Thank you for the information on your ROSENGRANT line. I don't recall a Lucy Harding, but will check my files tonight.

I saw STARK as a line you are researching. Two of my ancestors were another Thomas HARDING, who married Hannah STARK (his second wife). They lived in Susquehanna County, PA. Some say that Hannah was Native American. She is a mystery.

'Glad you checked the message board. You can email me direct at reelpa@msn.com and send me your email. I'll send you a copy of the photo of Aunt Loa, as well as one of her mother, Permelia. A first cousin, just starting family research, has sent me copies of photos from her mom's albums. One of them was a postcard photo of one of the sons of Permelia and Jack. My grandfather, Lorenzo (Ren) MYERS, was half-brother to Loa. 'Will be happy to share what I have.
