I am trying to find the maiden name to Mary L. (b. 1858 in Maryland) who married Louis W. Campen (b. 1855) in 1881. They had several children: Caroline C., Lillian, Howard J., Bessie, Clarence, Emma M., and Henry C.. Louis' parents were John Campen of Prussia/Germany b. 1825 and Charlotte Humchenn(?) of Hannover PA or Germany b. 1825.
Any information would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Mary L's maiden name was Thomas. Mary and Louis both buried in old Baltimore Cemetary. I have information about her family. Interested to learn about Louis' father,John. Will have to find information at house here. I have "formal" picture of John and Charlotte. Louis and his brother Henry were sons of John and a first wife.
How are you related to this family ?

Louis and Mary had a daughter, Bessie, in 1891. Bessie married Otis Dewlin and had 5 children, their third was daughter Lillian Pear Dewlin in 1917. Lillian married Joseph M. Novak, and they had two children, their second, a daughter, Patricia in 1944. Patricia married Richard Morsberger and in 1970 had a daughter Deborah, myself. I have been search my maternal line, and Mary Campen is my Grandmother's Grandmother. I have a lovely formal photo of Mary, if interested. I do not have any info on the men in the family. Do you by chance know anything about Lillian, one of Mary and Louis' daughter? It appears that Bessie named her daughter after Lillian.
How are you related?

"Lillian" was really Leonora "Nora" Amelia Campen, named after her grandmother. She married Alfred Samuel Taft on Mar. 9, 1905. I've not yet found out when Leonora died, but her husband was buried at Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Baltimore. Leonora is not there with him.

Thank you so much for the information on Lenora/Lillian. Am I correct in the information I have regarding Lenora/lillian's great grandmother Susan League... she was only 13 when she had Mary?

From my research:

Susan (Susannah) M. League, born abt 1803, married Richard Silence 1 Jan 1817.

They had a daughter, Leonora A. Silence, born 16 Oct 1836, married Bryan M. Thomas 2 Nov 1854, and died 6 Dec 1909.

Bryan and Leonora's daughter Mary was born 23 Sep 1858, married Louis W. Campen 3 Feb 1881, and died 21 Feb 1930.

Mary and Louis had 7 (known) children:

1. Caroline E. Campen, wife of Arthur Emory Green
2. Leonora Amelia Campen, wife of Alfred Samuel Taft
3. John Howard Campen (never married)
4. Bessie M Campen, wife of Otis Dewlin
5. Clarence Milton Campen, husband of (1) Mary E. Dallam & (2) Grace Baker Siegel
6. Emma May Campen
7. Henry C. Campen (died young)

Clarence Campen was my great-grandfather.
