I wish I had more info, but this is what I do have. James was born in 1822, probably in Orange County, NY (probably in the Warwick area). At the time of his marriage he was living in Hardyston, Sussex County. He married Catharine Munson on 25 Apr 1841 in Sussex County (although he is listed as DeGrow). In the 1850 Census he was living in Vernon Twp. They had at least three children...Sarah Jane DeGraw (1843-1917), Mahlon DeGraw (1847- )and John DeGraw (1857-1943). The first two were born in Vernon Twp, Sussex County and John (my ggrandfather) was born in West Milford, Passaic County. I have not found where James is buried. Many of my other DeGraws (including John) are buried in a large DeGraw plot in the Midvale Cemetery in Wanaque, NJ.
