My grandfathers name was Wallace Emmett Gay and he was born April 29, 1895 to R. J. Gay and Minnie Visage Gay in Miller County Georgia. R. J. Gay died Jan. 11,1922 and Minnie V. Gay died March 2,1936. I believe that R.J.'s first name was either Ruffus or Ross. Any information would be appreciated.

I have recently started tracing my family tree. Samuel Beatrice Vissage were my great-grandparents. I don't have any dates for Sam, but Beatrice was born 9-11-1884 in Crawford Co., GA. She died 4-1974 in Macon, GA. Their children: Blanche, Alma, Elizabeth, Sam, Houston, and Paul. Elizabeth was my grandmother. She was born 5-1-1914. She married Edward Earl Coleman and they had two children, Edward Earl Jr (My father) and Jerry Wayne. I have been looking for some time for information on the Vissages. I am not sure if this is the right family but i am the grandson of Harvey Eugene Gay. I know he told me that he had several brothers and sisters one of which that I used to visit in Bainbridge, GA where they were from. Her name was Bernice. If this is the correct family I can get more info since his wife is still living.

Harvey E Gay that died in Birmingham Alabama and was married to Mary Caroline Lovell is th son of Rufus J Gay and his wife Minnie J Visage. He did have a sister named Bernice and she lived in Bainbridge Geogia in 1993.
