I dont have much on my Gephart family, maybe someone out there can help me. This is what I have, taken from the death certificate of Harry Gephart (my gggrandfather). Parents - William D. Gephart birthplace unknown Emily A. Gephart birthplace unknown.
Harry Gephart's obituary from 1929 reads as follows:
Harry Gephart was born in Elkhart county, Indiana, August 30, 1858. He departed this life April 6, 1929, age 70 years, 7 months, 6 days.
In 1871 he moved with his family to Kansas. Here as a young man he became interested in the drug business which soon became his life work. In 1890 he came to Oklahoma, settling first in what was then called Iowa City, but in late 1891 in Langston where he established himself as a pioneer druggist. He moved to Coyle in 1899 and was appointed postmaster in 1900. He was one of the early members of the Town Board. The Modern Woodmen of America Lodge of Coyle was organized in 1900; Mr. Gephart was elected banker, which he has held the position continuously until his death. He was also a charter member of the Coyle Odd Fellow Lodge, of which order he has for years been treasurer.
While still a resideent of Osborne County, Kansas, Mr. Gephart was married to Jennie E. Skidmore. To this union were born five children Rhuel J. Gephart, Coyle, Ralph G. Gephart, of Charelston, So. Carolina, Helen Irene Baker, Greeley, Colorado, Opal Naomi Phillips and Henry Kenneth Geephart, Coyle, all whom were present at the funeral.
In addition to his wife and the aboved named children, Mr. Gephart leaves to mourn his loss a sister, Mrs. Minnie Guaunt, Cushing, one brother, Carl Gephart, Deertrail, Colorado, six grandchildren, R. L., Donald Carl, Chester Leroy, and Helen Irene Baker, J. Dow and Joan Phillips.
