I am looking for any decendants of Nancy Ward daughter of Fivekiller and Tame Doe, born in Chota, Blount County, Tennessee, around 1738. Date of death was 1824 in Ocowee River, Tennessee. She married Tsu-La kingfisher. Then married Bryan Ward in 1757. They had one child, elizabeth, born 1759.

Carla, My ggrandmo was Nettie Ward Lovell Blanton. I don't know too much about her. I do know she was in Dewar Oklahoma in 1913. She was the mother of four children, two were boys she abandoned in Ark, one I have no information about and the fourth ended up in an orphanage around 1919. I believe she was born around 1883 somewhere in Oklahoma. Have you run across this name? She may also be Netia A.Ward. I love to hear from you. Donna

I am looking for clues to my ggrandmo NETTIE WARD. I can trace her up to 1913, and then I loose her. I don't know what her parents names were. I do know that in 1913 she had four children CHARLES HENRY LOVELL, JR, ANDY LOVELL and my grandmo ALMA BLANTON. I don't know who the fourth was. I believe it is poss that she may have moved to Calif. She is pretty much lost to us. If you have any info please get in touch.donna

Nancy Ward was the last Beloved Woman of the Cherokee. Her name was Nanyehi and the Eastern Cherokee Citizenship office should be able to give you a list of some of her descendants until 1830 or '35 when removals started. There are also books written about her that have some of her descendants listed. Make sure you get her line and not Bryant Ward's. He left Nancy when his white wife and daughter arrived in Charles Town in the 1750's or 1760's. If you can trace your Ward family line to the early 1800's or late 1700's you are probably descended from one of the 3 Ward brothers, who were traders for an English company. Two married Cherokee women and one married a Creek woman to establish their trade domain. Hope this helps.
