Crooked Creek Township founding families

I'm looking for any information about the first families that settled this area (around mid-late 1700s?). Specifically, where did they come from (Great Wagon Road?). I have lots of relatives in that area (Davis's of Davistown area) and I'm trying to track the family to the prior location. I know they were there in the late 1700s, but I don't know where they came from. I'm hoping to learn more about the families in that area in the hope that wherever they came from may be the same place my family came from. So any information about these first families would be helpful. Thanks.

Rob, I, too, am descended from the Davis families from Davistown in the Crooked Creek area. Specifically from PE (Patrick Elkanah or Cane, Cain) Davis. His father was David Davis.

The names are first found in the Burke County records, but we lost most of those records during the Civil War.

If you find any information, I hope you'll let me know as I'm stumped too.

Absolutely, I'm happy to share whatever I find. Thomas Davis (b. ~1790) was my ggggrandfather and my Dad still lives on the family property on Davistown Church Rd. so I get to go up there a few times a year. It's tough making sense of all those Davis' there, but I guess they are probably all related somehow.
