The name William Spencer appears in the 1809 tax list of Capt. John Smith, with 300 acres of land, and no polls (no one in household of an age to pay poll tax, indicating he was older and had no young men there). It appears again in 1819 in Capt. Ballew's company, with 450 acres and again with no polls. These are the only two I can locate. I can't give you any guidance on the location of the property.
