Surnames: King
Johnston King, Jr. left Randolph County in or prior to 1799 and was enumerated in Burke County in 1800 and in 1810. In 1815 James King listed 70 acres and no white polls for Johnston King in Capt. Teague's District. Does anyone know where in Burke this would be?

Based on the appearance of the 'upper, middle and lower little rivers' in the list of watercourses in that tax list, this area is probably in present Alexander County. This area was a part of Burke County until the formation of Caldwell County in 1841. Alexander was formed from Caldwell, Iredell and Wilkes counties in 1847.

Thanks for the reply with your assessment. This greatly reduces the area in which the property would be located.
