Hi,

I am looking into my Green Ancestors who lived in Liverpool in the 1800s...any connections would love to hear from you:

CHarles Green B1822 in Liverpool was a Sailmaker. He married Mary Ann Lloyd B1831 Ireland. They had the following children:

Charles V Green B 1853
Thomas J Green B 1851
Jessie Green
Mary Ann Green
Elizabeth J Green
William J Green B 1860ish
Edward D Green B 1863. Edward is my Great Grandfather who immigrated to Sydney Australia in 1883.

They lived in the Toxteth Park, Bootle Cum Linacre areas of Liverpool.

Would love to know more about this family.

Kind Regards,
Anita Green

search the marriage index on www.lancashirebmd.org.uk and find this entry

Lancashire Marriage indexes for the years: 1850
Surname Forename(s) Surname Forename(s) Church / Register Office Registers At Reference
GREEN Charles LLOYD Mary Ann West Derby, Register Office or Registrar Attended Liverpool REG

if you click on the reference number that appears you get a partially completed application form to order a copy certificate, or you can find the marriage on Freebmd.rootsweb.com and order online from the GRO. When it says 'Registrar Attended' that means they didn't marry in the 'established church' (CofE) and often means an RC church. From the Hibernia site http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~hibernia/m... you can see that they married at St Patricks RC Church in the Toxteth Park area.

Surnames: Green, Whalley
I doubt there would be a connection between Liverpool Greens and Chorley Greens, but since both have a Jessie and a Thomas, I thought it worth mentioning. Thomas is a common name but I think Jessie is less so. My Greens also lived in other neighboring towns including Horwich, Heapey, & Botany.

My Green family is as follows.

Marriages Sep 1878
GREEN Thomas Bolton 8c363
Whalley Sarah Bolton 8c363

I believe son, Albert immigrated to the US. I know nothing about any of the others.

I'd love to hear from anyone connected to this family or anyone with any information on them. I'm connected to the Whalley side.
