My mother is a Balchunas. Her great grand parents emigrated from Lithuania. Will have to get more info as I don't know their names. My great grandmother; her name was Margaret my grandfather's name was William and they were from Shamokin, PA. Quite a large Lithunian population there, I believe.
Will post more when I get info.

My grandfather was born in Lithuania in 1902. His name was Isidoras Balciunas and he got married with Emile Malcius. They came to Brazil in 1929 with my uncle, a baby called Alfonsas. I can look for more information if you want.

Anny--Thanks for your input. I will need to get more info on my mother's side of the family; not sure who was born here and who immigrated. Do you know where in Lithuania your grandparents came from?

Don't know if this may be any relation. My grandfather was Stanley Balchunas....don't know when he arrived in the US. Know he lived in Mt. Carmel, PA in the 1910's, Phila (1010 S. Second Street) in the 1920's, then Ashland, PA. The last the family heard from him he was in New York. He had a twin Isadore, brothers John and Paul and a sister, Casmiere. Father's name was Paul. Paul had a sister ? Shabani.
Stanley married (arranged marriage), Marcella Sadauskas. Their children were Adele, Julius and Stella; all lived in PA.

Hi Elaine,
I was from Centralia. Don't know if our Balchunas families are related or you know, we were protected from the 'family secrets'. My grandmother was Marcella Sadusky Balchunas; her husband being Stanley. She lived in Mt. Carmel, Phila, and Ashland. It was an arranged marriage that didn't work out. Stanley split for New York around 1930. Know Stanley had a twin Isadore, and brothers Charles, Paul and John; as well as a sister Casmiere. Can you help? I also responded to Anny's posting.

My grandparents also came from Lithuania. They lived in a predominantly Lithuanian neighborhood in South Philadelphia. I remember growing up as a child listening to my father (one of four children) talking to my grandparents in their native tongue. My office number is 713.307.4700 if you would like to talk..

I know this post of yours was made years ago, but I'm hoping you still have the same email address or will eventually check this :o) I have a great-grandfather Joseph Balchunas also from Lithuania (he would have been born about 1883). I'm wondering if you know the names of the 11 Balchunas children? I wonder if my great-grandfather Joseph is one of those 11 kids??? that would be cool!!
