Search for information on Robert Burbidge, born about 1827 Northampton, England--father John, mother Mary. Robert emigrated to Ontario, Canada and married Sarah Harris in 1863 near Toronto where they settled and raised a family of 12 children. My grandfather was Benjamin Burbidge.

Hello Ben,
Robert and Sarah Burbidge were my ggggrandparents. Their eldest daughter Emily Josephine (Emma) was my gggrandmother. She married Francis George Dunn, and they also had a large family. I am VERY interested in exchanging family research with all concerned parties.

Hi Greg
Yes we must be relatives somewhere along the Burbidge line. I have done a lot on Sarah and Robert Burbidge, but now am stuck in Somerset for Sarah, and Northamptonshire for Robert. Please contact me at my email address. Ben

My name before getting married was Aida Burbidge my fathers
name is Alexander Harris Burbidge born 9 April 1928, his fathers name was Sydney Harry Burbidge he died about 1934
he was only about 35 years old his father Henry Burbidge was married about 1881 in Glasgow to Margaret his brother was Thomas Burbidge and there father was Henry Burbidge
in the 1881 Census in Glasgow it has them as all being english but not where they came from and that they were now living in Glasgow as foundry workers for the industrial revolution. My Grandmother could not tell me much when she was alive as she was widowed in her thirties with three small children. But my Aunt Jean can rememeber that some went to Canada and they were related to the Harris family hence my fathers middle name it a mystery as it such a small family and some of the details have died with people inbetween the two wars if anybody can find even the link to England that would be great as well the Henry Burbidge that came up to Glasgow in the 1870s was a widower with two boys and remarried. Thanks

If you are looking for Burbidge in the UK, there are a large number of Burbidge including living memeber in addition to deceased in the area of Dorset, England.

Using my Grandmother's death certificate I was able to trace
her Father's relatives in Dorset back 348 years. I could only trace her Mother back 1 generation.

It is interesting that the UK shows living relatives in Dorset and surrounding area. My Grandmother's family immigrated from Dorset to Nova Scotia, to Canada to Mendon, IL. near
Quincy, IL where she was born.

On the birth certificate for Robert and Sarah's wedding does it give the parents names for Robert. I am working on a Burbidge tree as well. The Burbidges I am searching originally came from Wiltshire, England. They came to Rawdon, Quebec and have spread out to other parts of Canada. I have found Robert & Sarah in the census records but don't know how or if they fit in. Would like to know Roberts' parents names. My email is McHallam @golden.net. Hope this is helpful.

Hi David:
My grandfather was Benjamin Burbidge and I am named after him. I just recently completed research on my great grandfather Robert and Sarah (nee harris) and have traced both lines back in England. I have managed to receive a copy of births listed in the family Bible etc. If interested in what I have, please contact.
