Surnames: Failla, Faillo
I am looking for any information concerning the Failla line. My great-grandfather was Giuseppe and came to the states from Sicily about early 1900's. He came with 2 brothers. The Failla name was later changed to Faillo.

My grandfather was Giuseppe (sp?) Failla from Vizzini, Sicily. He and my grandmother Idria, came to the states in the early 1900s and settled in Omaha, Nebraska. I've found that there were a number of Failla's from in and around Vizzini that imigrated to the US around that time.

Hi Jacqueline

I am a Failla, and my father was Giuseppe Failla from Licodia Eubea in Sicily, he was named after his grandmother, so I don't think there is a Giuseppe Failla in his lineage but I am not sure. My grandfather was Paolo Failla, he was one of seven siblings, and one of them I think called Giuseppe, although his father was Santo, who would have been similar age to the Giuseppe you refer to. My grandfather was born in 1898 and my father in 1933, just to give you some perspective. My father migrated to melbourne, Australia in 1952, and his brothers and parents followed in the late 50's and 60's during the migration boom.

there are several hundred Failla's now in melbourne all descendants from Licodia Eubea in Sicily.

Anyway would be please to share some more information with you or find alittle more about distant relatives here in Australia.

Hi Sam
I did not know there were Failla's in Australia. Not shocking, yet not to the degree which you describe.
I live outside Atlanta, Georgia and am a surveyor.
My grandfather Giuseppe is also from Sicily and more a more exact location would be Vizzini.
Thanks
John

Hi Art. Don't forget....grandma and grandpa went back and forth at least twice. I still have one original boat ticket.
Do you know what the address would have been of Grandpa's store on Nicholas St back in 1925?
